Obituary

Kent Miller II, 72, of Palmetto, Florida (previously a long time resident of Hartville, Ohio) died May 9, 2012, at the Kobacker House Care Facility in Columbus surrounded by family and friends. He was born April 22, 1940 in Canton, Ohio, the son of the late Kent B and Delores Miller. He was the youngest of 3 siblings. Kent was a graduate of Canton, McKinley High School the class of 1958 and had an associate's degree from Kent State University. After high school Kent enlisted in the Army where he served for 4 years in the Airborne Division. After his honorable discharge, he was employed by Diebold in Canton for over 20 years managing their Fourth Street distribution center. Then he worked for another 12 years at Time Warner Cable in North Canton. Kent was a long time member of First Christian Church in Canton where he and his wife Karen were very active members of the Christian Home Builder's class where they established many lifelong friendships. Kent and his wife Karen also ran the evening Sunday school classes for the 4-5 year old age group for 21 years. Kent was an avid bridge player and golfer who recorded a hole-in-one on two separate occasions. Kent is survived by his companion of the last 17 years Ann Cotton; son and daughter-in-law Brant and Tracy of Reno, NV; son Kurt of Munroe Falls, his Daughter Renee Gaylor of North Canton, his sister Nanette ("Nan") Miller Hill of California, by his niece Laura Fritsche of Canton. Kent was predeceased by his wife of 27 years Karen (Hritz) Miller, by his father and mother, and by his Sister Marilyn Fritsche. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday morning May 26th at Mount Peace Cemetery in Hartville. Following the graveside service the family will be hosting friends at the Hartville Kitchen, one of Kent's favorite restaurants, for a lunch to reminisce and remember Kent's life. He will be dearly missed.
