Kaye H. Paar, age 79, of Canton, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Canton to the late Alfred E. and Katherine "Skeets" Pfouts Harman. Kaye was a 1955 graduate of Lincoln High School and attended Bowling Green University where she was a member Delta Gamma sorority. She was a girl scout, an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She especially enjoyed dinner and traveling with her close friends, spending time with friends at the Whipple Café, and breakfast at John's Bar with her ex co-workers. Kaye was a member of Legacy Chapter OES, the Wilderness Center, WNBC (Wednesday Night Bridge Club). She had worked at Republic Steel Drainage Division, LTV Steel and retired in 2001 from WCI Steel in Warren, Ohio. In addition to her parents Kaye was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Margaret "Penny" Oleksa. She is survived by daughter, Leslee Paar Burman; son, Frederick A. Paar, III; grandchildren, Lindsey, Taylor and Carrie; brother, David A. (Sue) Harman; sister-in-law, Joan Schory; niece, Lanee (Tom) McQuiston; ex-husband, Fred "Fritz" Paar and many loved friends and neighbors. The family offers a special thank you to Vicki Clemetson. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW with Pastor Rick Gordon officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call beginning at noon.
