Kathleen M. Arfons, 83, of Uniontown, passed away on September 22, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 14, 1942 in Akron to the late Elvin and Veronica (Meyers) Zehner.
Kathy was the cherished matriarch of her home. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family gatherings and holidays complete with her cooking were her greatest joy. She was the anchor of every celebration, creating memories that her family will carry on forever.
In addition to the love for her family, Kathy also had a caring heart for every animal, whether it was skunks, ground hogs, her beloved donkeys and even her favorite deer, Fawnzie.
She is survived by her children, Lisa (Wilmer) Caraballo, Brett Arfons and daughter-in-law, Lisa Arfons; grandchildren Jenna Snipes, Jacob (Micah) Arfons, Julia Arfons (Jack) Davies, Jordan (Danielle) Caraballo, Jessica (Bryan) Kuhn, Jaeden Caraballo and Jonah Arfons; great-grandchildren Scarlett and Gattis Snipes, Lorenzo, Luca, Natalia and Marco Caraballo, Charlotte and Celeste Kuhn, Theo and Nolan Arfons; siblings Mary Jane Thomas, Eileen (Nick) Miller, Paul (Debbi) Zehner, Jeannine (Craig) Westbrook, and David (Kathy) Zehner; sister-in-law Eileen Zehner; and her in-laws Patty and Richard Stiff and Rita Smyers.
Kathy also has a huge extended family whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Walter "Terry" Arfons, her beloved son, David "Eric" Arfons and brother Bob Zehner.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 29th from 5-7 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home-Hartville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of The Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Rd, Akron, OH 44312.
She will be laid to rest at East Liberty Cemetery beside her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 408 9th St SW Suite 3400, Canton, OH 44707 or Northeast Ohio Autism Group, PO Box 244, Gates Mills, OH 44040, where all donations stay local, including Stark County.
