Obituary

After a long and well-fought battle with cancer, Kathie is now at peace with the Lord. She passed quietly in her sleep at home snuggled close to her beloved cat, Ginger. Her final days were filled with the love, care, and support of her family, who remained by her side to comfort her through every moment. A special thanks to the team at Hospice of the Western Reserve who worked hard to keep her comfortable at her end of life. Your touch meant so much to her and her family.

Calling hours will be held at Arnold Funeral Home on Monday, January 19th, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a brief service at the same location. All are welcome to attend and flowers are welcome. She will buried at the Canton West Lawn cemetery alongside her grandmother, Mamie Davidson.

Kathie was preceded in death by her parents, Stella and James, her son Michael, and her sister Charlotte. She is survived by her sister Jeannie, brother-in-law Dave, son Mark, daughter Melissa, son‑in‑law David, four grandchildren, and a great-grandson. She left her dog AJ and her cat Ginger in the care of her daughter.

Born to Stella and James Lindsey on May 25, 1954 in Canton, Ohio. She had two older sisters Charlotte Boone and Jeannie Kelley. Her spontaneous nature took her across Northeast Ohio, and even Arizona and Florida for a time, before spending her final years with her daughter in Willoughby. Her favorite work was when she ran her own cleaning business, which she closed down before moving to Florida in 2012. She was known for her meticulous attention to detail and keen eye for organization. This contributed to her working at Mercy Hospital where she took great pride in her work until cancer eventually drove her to retire in 2018. She was also known for being a caretaker, always looking to lend a hand, and cared for both her parents as they passed.

She pursued many creative outlets throughout her life including painting pottery, gardening, floral arrangements, and scrapbooking. She loved flowers, nature, and watching big, beautiful flags waving in the wind. Her home was always filled with the companionship of pets she cherished, including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and hamsters over the years. As a young child she even tried to borrow a pony from a neighbor!

She will always be remembered for her commitment to being a good mother, her love for family, and her stubborn "get it done" attitude.
