Katherine L. Billings, age 94, of Canton passed away Saturday morning September 13, 2008 at the Canton Christian Home. She was born in Canton on June 8, 1914 to the late Charles and Minnie (Schmidt) Arnold. Katherine graduated from McKinley High School in 1932, then worked as a secretary for the Hoover Company. In 1939 she married Wilbur "Bib" Billings, and they shared 67 years together until he passed away May 2007. After raising her children, she was a secretary at Dueber then Madge Youtz Elementary Schools, retiring in 1982 after 17 years of service. She was a life-long member of First Church of the Resurrection where she was active in the Emma Ziemer Circle and the Welcome-In Class. She was a member of Triosis, Lady Elks and Canton Garden Club. Kay loved music, literature and theatre. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Wilbur and Linda Billings of Paw Paw, MI, and Philip and Sue Billings of Annville, PA; daughter Barbara Hazelbaker of West Union, OH; grandchildren Micah (and Kerri) Billings, Leah (and Mark) Kretschmer, Nathan Billings, Josh (and Jen) Billings, Dan Billings, Jay (and Kim) Hazelbaker, Carrie (and Rob) Fuller, and Amy (and Adam) Watkins; 10 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Lynn Jolly of North Industry, OH; and 10 nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by sister Ruth Long, brother Philip Arnold, and twin sister Caroline Reigle. Friends may call Monday 6-8 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home Canton and one hour prior to services Tuesday 10-11 AM in the church. Funeral services are Tuesday 11 AM in the First Church of the Resurrection, 901 Tuscarawas St., E with Dr. Bruce Mont officiating. Final Resting Place is Forest Hill Cemetery.
