Karl R. Fahrni, age 82, of Canton, passed away on Saturday February 20, 2016. He was born on April 30, 1933 in Switzerland to the late Karl and Frieda Fahrni. Earlier in his career he was a mechanic at Schoner Chevrolet and retired as a machine repairman for the Timken Company. He served in the US Army, then married Betty J. Moor (of Hartville) and three years after celebrating the birth of their son, Tom, she passed away unexpectedly. Karl was blessed with another marriage to Marilyn J. Norris (of Warsaw, OH) and they celebrated 40 years of marriage until her death in 2014. He really enjoyed tending to his property, especially mowing, and could fix anything that was broken.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Tom and Mary Jo Fahrni and granddaughter Nicole of Canton; siblings Louise and Dick Brown of Coshocton and Wally and Carla Fahrni of Minerva; in-laws Ann Moor of Hartville; and nieces and nephews. Also preceded in death by in-laws, Charles (Sonny) Moor, Robert and Mary Norris.

Calling hours are Tuesday 4-7 PM at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. Funeral services are Wednesday 11 AM at the funeral home. Final resting place is Mount Peace Cemetery.
