Karen A. Toohey, age 87, of North Canton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center. She was born on March 26, 1938, in Canton, Ohio to the late James T. and Romayne (King) Toohey.

Karen was a graduate of Aultman Hospital School of Nursing where she received her RN degree and then she worked for the State of Ohio as a medical assistant coordinator before retiring.

Karen was also a proud member of Senior Sing.

She is survived by her brother James B. (Victoria) Toohey; 1st cousin JoAnne Callas; 6 loving nieces; and many cousins and wonderful friends.

In addition to parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sister Linda Kramer.

A service will be held on Thursday, September 4th at 11:00 a.m. at the Arnold-Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton.

Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to The Aultman College Class of 1959 Scholarship, awarded to nursing students, and very dear to Karen as this was her nursing class that established the scholarship.

Other donations can also be made to the Spay/Neuter Program of the Stark County Humane Society or the McKinley Library and Museum.
