Julia Geraldine Nieman, age 90, a 40-year resident of Hartville passed away on Friday January 16, 2009. Born in Greentown on May 21, 1918 to the late Wesly and Josephine (Carroll) Scott, she was one of ten children and grew up on a farm in Mahoning County. She married Naseeb Nieman in May 1952 and he passed away January 1989. After marriage, she was a nurse at Robinson Memorial Hospital for 20 years. Julia loved animals, reading and music, and she played Hawaiian guitar. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Dean of Hartville; son Bruce Nieman of Green; grandsons George (Stacey) Dean IV of Canton and Jerome (Patricia) Dean of Hartville; great-granddaughters Elyssa Renee and Madison Julia Dean of Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home, Hartville. Funeral services will be Wednesday 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor John Tucker officiating.
