Judi and Joe graduated from the Akron art institute school of design in 1954 and Married in 1956. Being dedicated to the arts in Canton, as well as raising their two daughters kept them committed to a life of love and creativity enriched by surrounding themselves with beautiful art and antiques that would span a 54 year marriage. She also received a BS and a BA from Kent State University. Judies passion for teaching art started at the Canton Art Institute (now the Canton Museum of Art ) , and included Canton Country Day School, Massillon City Schools, Several Museums, Camp Wakonda, and home studio classes. She was inventive in her teaching as well as her art, seeing the hidden talents in all of her students and quietly pushing doors open to reveal each students unique vision. Her artwork is featured in many galleries and museums as well as private and public collections. In her art she was influenced by the beauty of nature and the philosophies of John Muir and Henry David Thoreau. Her natural, genuine love of friends and family, her surroundings, nature and animals, an appreciation for all things beautiful and her deep spiritual connection will be her legacy and one that we will all cherish and profoundly miss. Your Vision and Love held us strong, We miss you already! A Memorial service will Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Presbyterian Church.
