Obituary
Joyce Elizabeth (Taylor) Hill, 81, died January 15, 2018 and now rests with her beloved husband, Thomas, forever free in the arms of the Lord and dancing in heaven. Born April 8, 1936 in Dover, Ohio she was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Anna (Gatchell) Taylor. Survivors include three children, Denise (Mike) Underwood, Brian (Crystal) Hill, Diane (Tom) Adams; seven wonderful grandchildren, Jessica, Dianna, Matthew and Christina Underwood, Jacob Hill, Joey and Julia Adams; brother, Lynn Taylor (Kay); two brother-in-laws; nieces and many dear friends.
Joyce loved family gatherings and was immensely proud of her grandchildren, delighting in their accomplishments. She was a proud Massillon Tiger, Class of '54, a member of North Canton Community Christian Church, long-time member of North Canton Junior Sorosis Women's Club, and Avondale Elementary volunteer. Known as "Grandma Cookie", she shared many smiles and her love of baking. Joyce also enjoyed traveling, camping, hiking, park walks, music, dance, Alaska, cardinals and ice cream. Her love of music and dancing brought joy to others. A special thank you to Home Instead caregivers, the staff of Country Lawn in Navarre, and Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. N.W. with Rev. Edward M. Fashbaugh, II. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice of Northeast Ohio, 3473 Boettler Oakes, Uniontown, OH 44685. Please sign the guest book.
