Josephine M. (Gauldin) Stone, age 104, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday January 7, 2023. She was born August 30, 1918 in Peru, Indiana to Samuel Gauldin and Lucy M. (Aldredge) Gauldin Gross. Jo, as she was known, graduated from Northridge High School, Dayton, Ohio and attended the Miami Jacobs Business School in Dayton. She was a long time member of the EUB Church which merged with the Methodist Church--her latest church home was Asbury United Methodist Church in Delaware, Ohio. Jo is a 50 year plus member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She attended and held offices while residing in Tipp City and Delaware, Ohio. In 1978 she was an appointed member of the Ohio's Eastern Star Grand Family. Jo came from a long line of strong women, She loved God and family--especially children.

She is survived by her son, Charles D. (Bertha) Stone of Colfax, California,; daughter Deborah (Dan) Schmidt of Savannah, Tennessee; and son in law, Rev. Dr. Gary (Sally) Olin of Oberlin, Ohio. Also eight grandchildren Beth (Shannon) Strachen, Jennifer (Michael) Olin-Hitt, Nathan (JoAnna) Olin, David (Bess) Stone, Joshua (Kellly) McLaren Olin, Megan (Toby) Howell, Kelsey (Matt) Stout, and MacKenzie Barton. In addition, Josephine was also blessed with 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, loving nieces "The Gauldin Girls" and other surviving family members as well.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles O. Stone, daughter Rev. Dr. Judith (Stone) Olin, and two infant great grandchildren Carson Rae and Jordan Olin-Hitt. Also siblings Carl, Raleigh, and Samuel Gauldin; Warren, Raymond, Charles, Elizabeth, and Zelma (Spinazolla) Gross. Calling hours are Friday January 13th 10 AM – 12 noon at Arnold Shriver Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton. Funeral services begin at 12 noon with Rev. Phil Wilden officiating. Final resting place is Forest Hill Cemetery.
