Jo Hartland, age 90, died October 6, 2011 in Friendship Village Assisted Living in Dublin, OH. Born on January 1, 1921 in Dane County, WI she graduated from De Forest High School (Wisconsin) and attended the University of Wisconsin. She graduated from Kent State University,and attended the Case Aide Classes sponsored by the United Way where she served as a volunteer for several years with many of the community agencies. Jo also volunteered at the McKinley Museum and in the library of Christ Presbyterian Church where she was a member for over 50 years. She was instrumental in the organization of the Auxiliary of the Stark County Dental Society and had served as president. Jo was a member of College Club, the Thursday afternoon book section and the MacDowell Club, and attended the BSF Bible Study Classes. Preceded in death by her husband Hal, and an infant son, Paul, Survivors include son: H. Scott Hartland of Fort Collins, CO, two daughters: and sons-in-law: Mary Jo & David Tuttle of Marietta, GA, and Ann & Gregory Hicks of Dublin, OH. Three grandchildren: Michael & Anna Marie Hicks and Caroline Mullis. A private graveside service will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
