Joseph Schwartz Jr. age 86 of Hartville went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning May 18, 2006 at Altercare of Hartville. He was born in Berne, Indiana on October 30, 1919 to the late Joseph Sr. and Elizabeth (Graber) Schwartz, one of thirteen children. He was a well-known Blacksmith who shoed horses and repaired buggy wheels. He retired from FE Schumacher Company. Joe was a member of Bethany Mennonite Church. Preceded in death by his wife Emma in 1996; son, William; grandsons, Jason Ben and Tyson Sommers; siblings Henry (Barbara) Schwartz, Emma (Simon) Eicher, Veronica (Mel) Eicher, Rosie (Levi) Miller, Noah (Mary Ann) Schwartz, Daniel (Fannie) Schwartz, Jacob Schwartz, Sam (Susan) Schwartz, Mrs. Ruben (Leah) Swartz, Elmer Schwartz. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Ray Yoder of Uniontown, Marie and Ben Sommers of Hartville, and Elizabeth Raber of Quaker City, PA ; grandchildren, Marlene and Leon Coblentz, Sharlene and Dale Raber, Julia and Sean McCleery, Maria and Rob Eklich; great-grandchildren, Shawn and Travis Coblentz, Haley and Vanessa Raber, Cory and Jared McCleery; siblings, Amos and Madeline Schwartz, Ruben Schwartz, Mrs. Elmer (Elizabeth) Schwartz, Emanuel and Catherine Schwartz, and Mrs. Sam (Ann) Schwartz; and nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Maple Grove Mennonite Church. Funeral services will be Sunday 2:00 PM in Maple Grove Mennonite Church with Pastor Dave Slabaugh officiating.
