Joseph Kohut Jr. age 40 died unexpectedly September 12, 2023, in his home in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born September 8, 1983, in Youngstown. Joe enlisted in the Army National Guard and was called up to serve in Iraq, Kuwait and Germany and retired from the Army after 20 years of service.

He is survived by his father, Joseph Kohut Sr. of Atwater; mother, Barbara Yohn of Youngstown; stepmother, Terry Kohut-Yeager; three stepsisters, Cathy, Jenna and Justina. He was preceded in death by a stepsister April.

Joseph will be buried in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Military Honors on Friday, October 13 at 10:45 am. A memorial service will follow at The Chapel in Marlboro, 8700 Edison St. Louisville, Ohio at 1:00 pm with Pastor Joel Cochran officiating. Following the service, the family invites everyone to join them for refreshments and fellowship at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
