Joseph J. Detweiler, age 82, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday September 5, 2016. He was born November 3, 1933 in Uniontown, OH to the late David J. and Nancy J. (Overholt) Detweiler. He was a husband, father, grandfather and businessman who enjoyed the company of family and friends. He attended Hartville Conservative Mennonite Church. He loved bull dogs and enjoyed farming.

Preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Sara P. Detweiler on May 15, 2015; 2 brothers and sister-in-law James and David Jr. and Magdalena Detweiler. He is survived by his children Donald Detweiler and James Detweiler of Hartville, Cheryl (Ralph) McDonald of Uniontown; grandchildren Heath (Shila) Detweiler of Dublin, Joshua (Annah) McDonald of Marysville, Matthew McDonald of Uniontown; siblings Arlene (Roy) Gingerich of Uniontown, Martha (Elmer) Gingerich of North Canton, Hannah (Owen) Beachy of Hartville, Thomas (Nancy) Detweiler of Senecaville, Miriam (Murray) Yoder of South Carolina; sisters-in-law Mary Miller of Berlin and Phyllis Miller of Wilmot; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Sunday 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM at Hartville Conservative Mennonite Church. Funeral services are Monday 10:30 AM at the church with Eugene Sommers officiating. Final resting place is Walnut Grove Cemetery.
