Jon M. Walro, age 64, of Hartville,OH, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 31, 2015. He was born in Greensburg, PA on May 15, 1951 to the late Stanley and Julia (Senchyshyn) Walro and graduated from Jeannette High School in 1969. He graduated from Allbright College in 1974 and received his doctorate in zoology from Ohio University in 1980. In 1986 he joined the anatomy faculty at Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, OH and served as director of Human Development and Structure and director of Surgical Anatomy until retiring in 2012. He was awarded the title of Master Teacher at NEOMED in 2010. In 2012, he joined the faculty of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine at Seton Hill, Greensburg, PA, where he instructed human embryology, histology and gross anatomy courses. In 2015, he received a Masters in Medical Education from LECOM, Erie, PA. He was a caring and supportive husband, father and uncle to many nephews and nieces. He derived great satisfaction from working with the students during his teaching career. He will always be remembered as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and for his love of fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law Paul Murrman and Robert Hotochin both of Jeannette,PA. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Darlene of Hartville; son Derek of Los Angeles, CA; sisters Carol Murrman and Kathi Hotochin of Jeannette, PA; and niece Kristy (Murrman) Matthews of Derry, PA. A memorial service at Celebration Worship Center in Hartville is Saturday December 12 at 1 PM with Pastor Stu King officiating.
