Jon A. Galit, age 84, of Hartville passed away Friday, March 11, 2022 at his home following a battle with cancer. He was born May 7, 1937 to Lewis and Betty Galit in Akron and graduated from Ellet High School in 1955. Following graduation he began working at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. where he met his wife Karen, his bride for 49 years. He worked at Goodyear for 35 years where he retired in 2001. Jon loved spending time with family and numerous family cats over the years. He took great pride in caring for his yard, garden and always made sure the birds that came by were well fed. Numerous family trips were spent in Deep River, Ontario, where hundreds of walleye were caught and an eternity of memories were made. Summer trips were simple by todays standards, in that we packed up the family camper and enjoyed many campgrounds between Ohio and Florida.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Karen, brother Steve, and son Bobby. He is survived by his children Mark, and Kim (James) Ferrari, Jon II, Jeff, and Jill; grandchildren Ethan, Austin, Aubrie, and Justin; sister Pat (Richard) Kemph.

Calling hours will be held Friday, March 18 from 11-1 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville. Funeral services will immediately follow with Celebrant Kevin O'Brien officiating. Final resting place is Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville.
