Jolenta Ann Smith, age 85, of Canton passed away at her home with her family by her side on December 13, 2023. She was born in Canton on September 27, 1938, to Richard and Esther (Whitmer) Gates and attended McKinley High School. Jo spent her career in the banking industry working with several banks as a teller. She was known for her fun personality and enjoyed her time bowling, being with her family, and riding with her husband on his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. Jo could also be found following all her favorite sports teams, the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Ronald Sitzman Sr.; son Patrick; sister Florence. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Kenneth Smith; children Laura Henriques, Linda (Dan) Clark, Michael Sitzman, Ronald (Caryn) Sitzman Jr., Rick Smith, and Bonnie Severenson; daughter in law Alice Sitzman; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters Ruth Anne, Lorene, and Patricia.

Cremation has taken place and no public services are planned at this time.
