Johnny "Darrel" Powell, age 63, of Lake Township, went home to the Lord on Saturday December 8, 2012 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Canton, OH on November 17, 1949 to John and Pauline (Eaver) Powell and graduated from Hoover High School in 1968. He had been a supervisor for Wayne Homes in Edinburg and then was a truck driver for UPS Freight. He loved fishing and was restoring a 1941 Chevy Truck. He enjoyed spending time with family and playing cards. He is survived by his wife of 24 ½ years Ruth; children Kim (Denny) Randolph of TX, Jacob Powell of NC, Misty (Garth) Lynge of Uniontown, Jarrod (Kendall) Powell of Dublin, Michael Kamerer of Hartville, Natalie (Jason) Steele of Akron; grandchildren Emily, Jacob and Connor Steele, Brianna Randolph, Aiden Lynge and Brooke Powell; siblings Kathy (Charles) Kinney, Ken (Birdie) Powell all of North Canton, Ricky (Kathie) Powell, Peggy (Bob) Dyar all of Uniontown; brothers-in-law George (Linda) Monroe of Cuyahoga Falls and Stephen (Norma Jean) Monroe of GA; and lots of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Nadia Randolph; mother-in-law Rosezella Monroe and brother-in-law Bill Lipscomb. Calling hours are Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM and an hour before services Thursday, (10-11AM), at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville, Ohio. Funeral services are Thursday 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Matt Brumfield officiating.
