John W. Sokol, age 61 of Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday July 17, 2011 after a long illness. He was born in Akron on January 21, 1950 to the late John F. and Dorothy K. (Engle) Sokol. He was a graduate of Tallmadge High School and served 6 years in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Greenwood Christian Church. Survived by his wife of 41 years Susan; sons and daughters-in-law John and Gina of Massillon, James and Angela of Canton; grandchildren Andrew (fiancée Kelsey), Steven (Stephanie), Adam (fiancée Nicole), Ryan, Alyssa, John, Taylor and Alicen; and numerous relatives and friends. Private graveside services will be held Tuesday July 26th . The family invites you to join them at the home of John and Gina, 10272 Morton Rd.
