Lovinsky
July 6, 1924 – December 7, 2016
John Lovinsky, age 92, of Canton, passed away Wednesday evening after a brief illness. He was born in Canton to the late Thomas and Ruby (Mlinac) Lovinsky. John was a WWII Marine Veteran serving in Okinawa where he received a purple heart. He retired from Akron Local 219 Plumbing and Pipefitters. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Lovinsky; son, John Lovinsky; daughter, Gayle Lovinsky Hirt. John is survived by his son, Michael "Mickey" Lovinsky; granddaughters, Trisha Lovinsky and Erin (Derrick) Slocum. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. N.W. with Rev. Kevin Slyh officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
