Obituary

John A. Lauritzen, age 88, of North Canton died Thursday evening. Born in Columbus to the late Hans Peter and Mary Helen (Adams) Lauritzen, John was a 1945 graduate of McKinley High School and received his college degree from Miami of Ohio. A Navy Veteran of WW II, he was retired from the Reynolds Aluminum Company and was the former owner of The Letter Shop. John was a member and past president of the Canton Rotary Club, active with the Board of Young Life, active member of the Ad Club, and was a member of Brookside Country Club. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Judith A. (Perample) Lauritzen; daughter: Ann Dolvin of N. Canton; two sons: Scott (Anne) Lauritzen of CA and Chris (Tammy) Lauritzen of NC; 7 grandchildren: Carl (Alexandra), Andrew, Ariel, Madison, Malory, Tyler, and Nicholas; great granddaughter: Adelynn. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Dean; his brother, Scott, and son-in-law, Kevin Dolvin, who gave their lives in WW II and the Gulf War respectively. A memorial service will be 11 A.M. on Friday, September 18, 2015 in Faith United Methodist Church 300 9th St., N.W. North Canton with Rev. Steve Stultz-Costello officiating. A private interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, September 17th from 6 to 8 P.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Avenue N.W.
