John Banning Johnson, age 91, of Hartville, passed away Wednesday May 25, 2011 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Confluence, PA on February 9, 1920 to the late Anthony Banning and Gladys Anne Johnson. He attended Canton South and graduated from East Canton High School. He was a WW II Army Veteran and a retired crane operator for Republic Steel. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Florine "Flo"; son John B. Johnson II of Sandy, UT; grandson Joshua B. and Lia Johnson and great-grandson Alexander Banning Johnson all of Birmingham, Alabama; brothers Kenneth Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri, Thomas (Deloris) Ball of Plain Township; and sisters-in-law Jean Johnson and Bonnie Ball of Canton. Preceded in death by brothers Richard and Clifford Johnson and Bill Ball. Calling hours are Saturday 1-2 PM and funeral services are Sat. 2 PM with Pastor Neil Davis officiating at the Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. Final resting place is Mount Peace Cemetery.
