North Canton

John W. “Jack” Hartley, age 78, of North Canton, passed away April 18, 2026. He was born in Cleveland on April 26,1947, to Elijah and Helen (Roush) Hartley. He graduated from Warrensville Heights High School and Bowling Green State University, where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. His college years prepared him well for his future career with Miller Cable in Green Springs, Ohio; he retired as a vice president after more than 30 years of service. Jack had a passion for history, and he and his wife, Nancy, loved traveling the world together. He was well known for his ability to make friends no matter where he went. In addition to being an avid reader, Jack loved puzzles, being with friends, and his time as "Grandpa." He was active at North Canton Community Christian Church, where he served as a deacon, elder, treasurer and member of the board of trustees. His Mondays were always reserved for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Luncheon Club, where he will be dearly missed.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, his children, and grandchildren.
