Obituary

John Ludwig Emerson, age 85, of Hartville, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday June 14, 2018. He was born in Akron, Ohio on June 15, 1932 to the late John and Edith (Selander) Emerson.

John graduated from Akron North High School and was a veteran of the US Navy. He then attended Central Bible Institute and the University of Akron. Following school, he joined the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a mail clerk. He worked at Goodyear for 39 ½ years, ultimately becoming the Assistant Treasurer. John was a faithful servant of God and attended Akron First Assembly of God and Akron Springfield Assembly of God. He served in many capacities including teaching Sunday School classes, singing in the choir, leading song service, as a board member, and volunteered everywhere that allowed him to share his love of God with others.

He especially loved being with his wife, Patsy, during their 63 years of marriage. He was a loving dad who lived his life as the greatest example for his children to follow. He was a humble man who was so thankful for all of the blessings of his life and shared his testimony with all who asked. John enjoyed traveling and family vacations, especially the years spent at Seabrook. He was never one to miss a joke or share his gregarious personality with others.

John is survived by his wife Patsy (Ayers); children Roger (Debbie) Emerson, Pam (Dennis) Galada, Sheryl (Bob) Hohenadel; grandchildren Jonathan Emerson, Andrew (Ashley) Emerson, Beth (Nick) Nussen, Lee (Jayne) Galada, Ben (Emilie) Galada, Kristen (Chris) Finefrock, Brittany (Casey) Rife, David (Kara) Hohenadel; great-grandchildren Carson and Greyson Rife, Eliana Galada, Jason Nussen; sisters Judy Durst and Joan Walker. Preceded in death by sisters Sarah Krans and Elsa Walters; brother Reuben Emerson.
