Joel M. Gottesman, age 27, of North Canton, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening January 9, 2007. He was born in Canton on August 11, 1979 and attended Plain Center Elementary, Middlebranch Middle and Glen Oak High Schools. The family moved to North Carolina and Joel graduated from Providence High School in Charlotte. Interested in a career in Family Practice and Integrated Medicine, he graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh where he was Co-Valedictorian and had been attending Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. At Brody School of Medicine he was very active in The American Medical Student Association and The American Council for Alternative Medicine. Preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Joel is survived by his mother and father, Nancy and Alan Gottesman of North Canton, brother and sister-in-law, David and Samantha Gottesman of Rocky River, OH; uncles, Pete (Barb) Sarich of Dover, OH, Jim Sarich of Troy, OH, and Dr. Joe Gottesman of Scottsdale, AZ; and cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday 1:00 PM at Shaaray Torah Synagogue with Cantor Bruce Braun officiating. Final resting place is Canton Hebrew Cemetery.
