Joe Nagy, age 95, formerly of Canton, Ohio and recently of Palm Harbor, Florida died on April 27, 2014 in Palm Harbor, Flordia. Born in Newark, OH on May 15, 1918 to the late Michael and Agnas (Bartok) Nagy, he was an Army Veteran of WW II involved in the Invasion of Normandy and Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Church of the Savior United Methodist, the American Legion and the VFW. Joe was a retired construction superintendent with L.E. Myers Company. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Dorothy (Swartzbaugh) Nagy in 1993; sister, Gisselle Nagy; brother, Andrew Nagy; dear friend, Steve Nemeth; step-children Sandra (Ralph) Forrer and Michael Johanning. Joe was a devoted brother, husband, uncle, sports enthusiast and will be sorely missed by all. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Betty (Johanning) Nagy of Palm Harbor, FL and step-children John (LuAnn) Johanning of New Port Richey, FL; Mark (Linda) Johanning of Kissimmee, FL; Jill (Tom) Carnes of Canal Fulton, OH; and Kimberly (Steve) Stevens of Palm Harbor, FL; nieces L. Kae (Larry) Stock of Thornville, OH; Judith (Timothy) Tornabene of New Philadelphia, OH; Becky Swartzbaugh of New Philadelphia, OH; and nephews Richard (Sandra) Swartzbaugh of Dover, OH; Steve (Betty) Swartzbaugh of Sugarcreek, OH; and Monte (Janet) Nagy of Newark, OH; family friend, Beverly Tomer; and numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins. A private graveside service with full military honors will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery. Please sign the guest book.
