Jodie Curtis, age 66, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to her heavenly home after a courageous battle with cancer on August 5, 2026.

Jodie was born November 29, 1959, and lived in Portage Lakes most of her life. Jodie worked many years driving trucks for Dutch Maid Produce and Wonder Bread in Akron, Ohio, where she met the love of her life, David Curtis. Soon after they were married, they moved to Hartville, Ohio and they made Hartville their home for 37 years. Jodie went on to work for Lake Local Schools for 28 years. During those 28 years, she served her district in many ways, serving as the Vice President of the Lake Local Education Association. She served on the East Central Ohio Education Association Executive Committee and served as delegate to the Ohio Education Association Representative Assembly. Jodie also worked as an OBI (On Bus Instructor) for many years.

Jodie had several hobbies she enjoyed, such as swimming, riding her Harley Davidson Motorcycle, gardening, and traveling. Jodie was a member of the United Methodist Church of Uniontown.

Jodie is preceded in death by her mother, Cherie Rorabaugh, grandmother, Hazel Rorabaugh, and grandfather, Murray Rorabaugh.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, David E. Curtis Sr, children, David E. (April) Curtis Jr. of Akron, and Jamie (Mike Graves) Long of Burbank, grandson, David Carl Curtis, mother-in-law, Nancy Curtis of Cookeville, Tennessee, brother-in-law, Brad (Beth) Curtis of Johnston, Ohio, sister-in-law, Leighann (Gary) Wojick of Cookeville, Tennessee, and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
