Joan K. Mamaux, age 87, of Canton, passed away on Thursday November 20, 2014. She was born in Canton on April 17, 1927 to the late Charles Rex and Fern (Keyes) Kistler and graduated from McKinley High School in 1943. She was on the cheerleader squad. When her children were old enough, Joan worked at Aultman Hospital and retired in 1989 when she was 62 to enjoy retirement with her husband. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard H. Mamaux on October 21, 1992; son Charles Rex Mamaux on September 16, 2005; brother Jack Kistler; and 2 great-grandchildren Austin Hogg and Ashlyn Keyser. Family meant everything to Joan. She is survived by her children Robert Earl (Kathy) Mamaux, Mary (Harold) Effinger all of Canton, Margaret (Patrick) Green of Panama City, FL; brother Robert (Marty) Kistler of North Canton; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Calling hours are Sunday 12 noon to 2:00 PM at Crossroads United Methodist Church and services begin at 2:00 PM in the church with Rev. Edward Fashbaugh II officiating.
