Joan Ann (Snyder )Bourquin Giordano, age 81, of Canton, passed away peacefully Monday morning with her daughter by her side. Born in Canton to the late Kenneth and Mildred Snyder, she was a life resident enjoying all the aspects of Canton. Joan was a 1953 graduate of Lehman High School. Her mother was a member of Eastern Star, her father was a 32nd Degree Mason, and Joan was a Rainbow girl. She married Tom Bourquin in 1957 and had 6 children. After being a housewife for 20 years, Joan went to work for the courthouse, Hallie's, Polsky's, McDonalds, Lawson's, Embassy Lanes and Marc's on 30th Street. Joan loved living in her home with her daughter as her caregiver; the two of them enjoyed working in the flower garden together and visiting local parks. She was grateful to all her amazing physicians, staff of Mercy Center and Homecare for their wonderful support and compassion. In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Giordano. Joan is survived by her children,Thomas (Pam), Timothy, Todd (Barb), Tracy (Rhonda), Toby and Teres Bourquin; grandchildren, Joey, Tiffany, Andy, Adam, Tyler, Logan and Cameron; 3 great grandchildren; cousins, Carole, Barbara and Judy. Special friend, Diane, and her grand kitty, Faith, also survive. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW, with Rev. Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Please sign the guest book.
