Jo Ann Hendricks Coates, age 60, of Plain Township passed away Wednesday evening January 30, 2013. Jo Ann was born on August 21, 1952 in Marietta, Ohio the third of 4 children to Ralph E. and Pearle (Klingberg) Hendricks. She graduated Frontier High School in New Matamoras, Ohio in 1970 and Marietta College in 1974 with a BA in History, where she was also a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She married Robert "Stan" Coates on June 14, 1975. Survivors include her loving husband Stan. Two sons; Joshua (Sara) and Bobby Coates, grandson Declan. She took great pride in her children and grandson. She is also survived by brothers John (Charlotte) Hendricks of Marietta, OH and Richard (Peggy) Hendricks of Belmont, WV, nieces Susan Adams & Jamie Snow and nephews Scott & Todd Hendricks. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Connie Snow. Jo Ann was past Vice-President and President of Washington County Branch of the American Heart Association. She is past Honored Queen of Bethel #78 Jobs Daughters in New Matamoras, Ohio and a member of the Newport United Methodist Church, Newport, OH. Memorial service will be 4:00 P.M. Saturday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St., W. with Pastor Bryan George officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 4 P.M.
