Jeffrey B. Wilson, age 69, passed away on May 31, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic after a courageous battle with multiple heath problems. Jeff was born in Canton Ohio and was a graduate of Lehman High School, class of 1963 and Ohio University in 1967. After graduating from college he was drafted and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1968 - 1970. After he returned from Vietnam, he was employed in the Insurance industry for 23 years and was a Certified Life Underwriter. He was then self employed for several years until health issues forced him to retire completely. Jeff was passionate about sports, most especially the Massillon Tigers, Ohio State Buckeye and the Cleveland Indians. He served in various positions with both the Massillon football and basketball programs including past president of the Touchdown Club and the Benchwarmers. He also served as a volunteer for First Christian Church as a member of the iCare team making hospital visitations. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Olive Wilson. Jeff is survived by his wife Paula with whom they would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this coming July. Also surviving are cousins Bruce and Claudia Bair, David and Debbie Bair, Patty and Gary Sautters and Carole Houser. Paula's father Richard (Sandy) Capatosta, Sister-in-law Vicki Ross and her husband George, and their children, Amanda (Chris Cook) Ross, and Heather Ross, and special aunt and uncle Rose and Dick Pfeiffer, and a host of very close friends. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW with Rev. Jeff Bullock officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Jeffrey's name to a charity of donor's choice. Please sign the guest book.
