Jeffrey Zane Wade, age 77, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on June 29, 2026.
Jeff was born on November 21, 1948, in Canton, Ohio, to Missy N. Keck (Burfield) and Alonzo Z. Wade. His mother later married Dr. Homer I. Keck, who was an influential part of Jeff’s upbringing.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda M. Wade; his mother, Missy N. Keck; his father, Alonzo Z. Wade; his stepfather, Dr. Homer I. Keck; his sister, Cynthia Keck-McNulty; and his cherished aunt, Eileen Smith.
Jeff is survived by his children, Jordan (Misha) Wade, Angela Wade, and Amanda Floyd; and his grandchildren, Jakob Wade, Cailin Wade, Daxton Oliver, Ethan Floyd, Magdalena Wade, and Evan Floyd.
Jeff was a proud graduate of Lehman High School and Malone College, and spent his career as an American steelworker with The Timken Steel Company. He valued hard work, loyalty, discipline, and providing for his family.
Sports were one of the great passions of Jeff’s life. For more than three decades, he coached and supported youth football and baseball in Perry Township, helping teach generations of young athletes the fundamentals of the game along with lessons in teamwork, effort, toughness, and discipline.
Jeff loved competition, and that carried into golf and bowling throughout his life. He grew up spending his summers on the golf course, a habit that continued for as long as he was able to swing a club. He also worked at Lincolnway Lanes before beginning his career at Timken Steel and bowled in many leagues over the years, building friendships and connections throughout the Stark County bowling community.
Jeff was happiest when surrounded by family. He loved Sunday dinners, homemade pizza nights, BLT brunches, summer cookouts, and any occasion that brought everyone together. He was proud, stubborn, funny, loyal, and truly one of a kind. Those who knew him will remember his stories, his routines, his strong opinions, and the unmistakable presence he brought into every room.
Above all, Jeff loved his family deeply. He was devoted to his wife, Linda, proud of his children, and loved his grandchildren. His family will remember him for his strength, humor, work ethic, loyalty, and the many traditions and memories he leaves behind.
The family extends its sincere thanks to Aultman Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
