Jeffrey M. Monty of Norton, and previously Hartville passed away unexpectedly on May 20, 2024. He was born in Akron on June 24, 1966, to Sam and Merry Ann (Taylor) Monty and is a graduate of Lake High School, class of 1984. Jeff attended the University of Akron before beginning his career as a carpenter and owner of MontyBuilt Construction. He was an avid sports fan, following the Cavs, Guardians, Steelers, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Jeff loved golfing with his friends, "Man Day," Hilton Head trips, going to movies and watching MMA fights with his son, and spending time with his significant other, Karen and her grandchildren.

Jeff is survived by his parents Sam and Merry Ann; his beloved son, Logan M. Monty; Lesa Sherwood-Monty (Logan's Mom,) and her siblings; brothers Kevin (Tammy) Monty and Brad (Michelle) Monty; eight nieces and 1 nephew, as well as 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew; his loving partner Karen Smerglia and her family. Jeff is also survived by a very loyal, loving, and tight-knit friend group who will miss him dearly, including lifelong friends Mike Bayes and Jeff Flenniken, as well as the rest of the "Man Day" crew. Jeff was one of the kindest people you could ever meet and was so very loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville from 4-6 PM. Celebration of Life Services will begin at 6 PM in the funeral home.
