Jeanne W. Shepard, age 92, of Hartville, formerly from Olean, NY, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Altercare of Alliance. She was born on May 16, 1925 in Brockway, PA to the late Harry and Ruth (Johnson) White. She received her nursing degree from Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, NY. In 1947, she married to The Rev. John A. (Jack) Shepard. As a nurse and Minister's wife, they served churches in several locations including McDonald, PA, Slate Lick and Schrader's Grove, PA, Portville and Allegheny, NY and Fairchance, PA. In her nursing career, she worked in labor and delivery for many hospitals, as a school nurse, and prior to retirement as a Director of Nursing for a nursing home.

Preceded in death by husband The Rev. John (Jack) Shepard in 1987; she is survived by her six children Susan (David) Ridgway of Hartville, OH, John (Pam) Shepard of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, Paul Shepard of Baltimore, MD, Rebecca (James) Murphy of Columbus, OH, James Shepard of Dallas, TX and Laura (David) Maher of Los Angeles, CA; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brother William (Gail) White of Massachusetts; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Saturday 1-3 PM at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 237 W. Maple St., North Canton, OH 44720. Funeral services are Saturday 3 PM in the church with The Rev. Richard Holmes officiating. Final resting place will be in Portville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church in honor of Jeanne Shepard.
