Jeanette Bertsch, age 83, of Hartville died on Wednesday October 19, 2016. She was born February 13, 1933 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio to the late Ward and Edna (Arnold) Green. In 1955, Jeanette graduated from The Ohio State University with an education degree and married John Bertsch. She taught in Cheshire Connecticut while John pursued his degree in ministry. Over the years they lived in several communities while John served congregations of the United Church of Christ. Together they were members of the United Church of Christ in Kent and Tuesday Musical Association in Akron. Jeanette worked for many years in Kent City Schools. She loved children and never missed a teachable moment to help them learn.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years John; daughter and son-in-law Sara and Lance Kennelty of Cranberry Township, PA; son and daughter-in-law John Charles "Chuck" and Bonnie (Tanksley) Bertsch of Cypress, TX; grandchildren Breanne and Brendan Kennelty, and John and Jessica Bertsch; and brother Don Green of New Braunfels, Texas.

A memorial service will be held Monday October 31st at 3 PM at Kent United Church of Christ, 1400 E Main St. Kent, OH 44240. A reception and time of sharing will follow the service.
