Jean Wingerter, (January 12, 1930-August 12, 2017) age 87, passed away August 12, 2017, following an extended illness. Born in Canton, Ohio January 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Donald Stewart and Thelma Goodyear. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Aunt and Friend. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles "Chubby" Wingerter and sister, Wilma Swinehart. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cherrie and Steve Zehnder and son and daughter-in-law, Chuck J. and Rhonda Wingerter, all of North Canton; two grandsons, Steve Zehnder and Chuck M. (Dawn) Wingerter; and granddaughters, Holly (Marc) Lewis and Jen (Chad) Davidson; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Brian, Anna, and Emalee Zehnder, Alexis Lewis, Vincent and Gibson Wingerter and Maisey Davidson. She was also one of the founders of Chubby Treats in Jackson Township and the business was named after her late husband Charles "Chubby" Wingerter. The family would like to give a special thank you to Mercy Medical Hospice, ICU, 10Main and the staff at "The Lodge at New Dawn" for their excellent and loving care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Paul's Catholic Church of North Canton with Rev. Msgr. James A. Clarke as celebrant. A private interment will be for the family.
