Obituary

Jean E. (Bauer) Spring, age 96, of Canton passed away April 2, 2015. She was the daughter of the late John F. and Julia (Frederick) Bauer. Jean was as 1936 graduate of McKinley High School. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, active in the Women's Guild and Welcome In Class. She was also a member of Trirosis of Stark County. A mother to seven children she oversaw dance and music lessons, sailing at Atwood Yacht Club and numerous family vacations. With her husband Merle of 64 years she travelled the world and enjoyed retirement homes in St. John U.S. Virgin Islands and St. Pete Beach, Florida. Jean loved playing cards, tea and teddy bears. Her teddy bear collection grew to over 200. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Merle R. Spring and great-grandson, Alexander Price. She is survived by her seven children and their spouses and companions. Stephen and Carol Spring, Frederick and Susan Spring, Charles and Gale Spring, Julie (Spring) Myers and Gary Hites, Bruce Spring and Ingrid Newstadt, Heidi (Spring) and Dean Wallace and Robert and Joyce Spring. Six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; Brian and Ginny Spring; their son and daughter Nate and Elliana; Dan and Jennifer Spring; their sons Justin and A.J., Melissa (Spring) and Ron Crowder; their son Benjamin, Kimberly (Spring) and Shawn Stephens; their sons and daughters Margaret, Cooper, Anne and Otto, Spencer and Aurora Myers their daughter and sons Dru, Jaxson and William, Hollis Myers, Hunter Wallace and Julianne (Wallace) and Adam Hensel. The family wishes to thank the Sisters and staff at the House of Loreto for their kindness, support and care of Jean. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity United Church of Christ with Rev. Andrew Taylor Peck officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in church.
