Janice Elizabeth Davidson, 79, of Uniontown, passed away on September 27, 2022 with her family by her side after a brief illness. Janice was born July 8, 1943 to the late Carl E. Vandergrift Sr. and Lois H. Overstreet in Roanoke, Virginia. After Janice graduated from Roanoke Jefferson High School in 1961 she started her first job at Southern Bell as a telephone operator. In 1966, Janice met Bobby R. Davidson on a blind date and they were married later that same year. Janice and Bob went on to live in various cities across Ohio before settling in Uniontown, Ohio for the next 24 years. In 2017 Janice retired from Macy's Belden Village after 38 years of service. During her retirement years Janice enjoyed traveling with her family and friends and was constantly on the go. Gardening and maintaining her yard was her passion…..just in case Publisher's Clearing House showed up with a big check. Janice is survived by her daughter Damara Davidson of Atlanta, Ga; sister Phyllis Cockerham (Ken) of Collinsville, Va; brother Carl Vandergrift (Larry Bower) of Mechanicsville, Va; brother Rayburn Vandergrift of Christiansburg, Va. A remembrance reception will be held in her honor at Gervasi Vineyard Wednesday October 19th 6.30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lake Community YMCA, an organization Janice felt strongly about.
