Janet Harrison Carver, age 94, died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas. Born on August 17,1913 in Cleveland, Ohio, Janet will be remembered for her wonderful spirit for life. Each day was a new adventure for her. She never stopped learning and imparted that wonderful quality in all of her children and grandchildren. Her travels took her from Africa to Australia to Idaho-where she panned for gold. She was a Girl Scout Leader, an avid camper and loved swimming- especially in Lake Erie. Her gift for writing poetry and clever letters will be cherished forever by her children and friends. Janet belonged to many organizations: Canton symphony, P.E.O. sisterhood, Canton women's club, grey Lady-Aultman Hospital, National Antique and Watch Collectors Association. Survivors include 3 daughters: Susie (Jamie) Brickell, Penny (Nick) Thompson and Priscilla (Kai Christensen) Carver and 1 son Jeff (Candy) Carver, 11 grandchildren: Caleb (Mina) Thompson, Jessica (Chris) Kuhlman, Meredith (Michael Ray Duffey) Brickell, Kimberly (Brian) Frank, Diana (Paul) Hsieh, Oona (Francesco) Toganelli, Mei Kie Christensen, Vibeke Christensen, Andy (Jessica) Carver, Doren (Tawana) Carver, Ennis (Kelly) Carver, 5 great-grandchildren: Caroline Carver, Julio Taganelli, Ceasar Taganelli, Miles Thompson and Cara Thompson, and daughter-in-law Beverly Carver. Preceded in death by brother Roger Harrison, husband John Clayton Carver owner of Caxton Press, and son Clayton L. Carver II. A Private family service will be held in San Antonio, Texas.
