Janet E. Balzer, age 94, of North Canton passed away on May 21, 2024. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa on October 7, 1929, to Victor and Goldie (Corbet) Harrod and following her marriage to Fred Balzer they relocated their family to the North Canton area. Janet was a lifelong piano teacher out of her home, loved tending to her flower gardens, and was a talented seamstress. She also spent time playing the piano at the Chapel in Marlboro and taught piano at Lake Center Christian School. Janet had a strong relationship with Christ and was active in the Chapel in Marlboro and recently at Alliance Friends Church. The family would like to thank Green Meadows Skilled Nursing and Rehab for their care of Janet.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband Fred; brothers Melvin Harrod and Ronald Harrod; great grandson Ewan Doublestein. She is survived by her children Vivian (Barry) Doublestein and Keith (Linda) Balzer; 5 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 4-6 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville and from 10-11 AM on Wednesday, May 29. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 AM with Pastor Joel Cochran officiating. Final resting place is Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
