Obituary

Jane (Walter) Collins, age 74, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 after a valiant fight against injuries sustained in a recent automobile accident.  She was born on November 8, 1947 in Millersburg, OH to the late John and Beulah (Bunny) Walter. Her early journey in life saw her from Glenmont, OH where she spent her childhood years to Canton, OH where she graduated from Glenwood High School in 1965.

The Jane, Janie, Aunt Jane or Grandma Jane that we all loved and adored met her best friend and husband Tom of 48 years and this is where her passion for life and all that she lived for began.  Tom was her everything and she committed her life to him. They were inseparable until his passing in 2015. After marrying she became a mother to two sons Craig and Brian.  Her role of mother was embraced with a kindness, love and devotion that was second to none.  It is no surprise that her love and desire to be the best wife and mother transitioned her easily to become Grandma to Zach, Noah, Josh, Caleb and then finally Katie.  She gave new meaning to "Grandma is the name and spoiling is the game".   A family is all she ever wanted, and a family is what she built.  She loved them all with every ounce of her being.

Even though Jane tried to empty her heart and soul into her family she was blessed with so much more to give.  She loved people, she loved to love!   Her love for her daughter-in-laws, cousins, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, neighbors, old friends, and new friends was endless.  She loved volunteering her time to the first graders at Lake Primary.  She loved rooting for every Blue Streak in any sport for the past 40 years.  She loved rooting for any kid, in any sport, for any school.  She loved being Grandma Jane to anyone (this was her badge of honor). She loved sports.  She loved the sun. She loved the ocean. She loved popcorn. She loved her dog Molly. She loved taking pictures.  She loved sending birthday cards.  She loved to talk and loved to laugh.  She loved to give.  She loved her church, and she loved her God.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Jodi, Brian and Holly, grandchildren, Zach, Noah, Josh, Caleb and Katie.

Calling hours are Friday 3-7 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. Funeral services are Saturday 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Anders Davison officiating. Final resting place is North Canton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in North Canton.
