James B. Walsh, age 87, of North Canton, passed away Thursday morning, December 24, 2009 at his residence. He was born May 3, 1922 in Lima, Ohio to James and Helen (Donehoo) Walsh. Mr. Walsh was a Design Engineer and owned and operated Walsh Industrial Design of Lima and North Canton. He was a graduate of St. Gerard High School in Lima and attended the University of Dayton. James was past president of American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers. He received several Merit awards for error free design from Westinghouse and Ford Motor Company. He was a past member of the Lions Club in Lima and past president of the PTA at Lima Central Middle School. He was the oldest of twelve children and was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marilyn; daughters and sons-in-law, Debi and Dan Hebel of Ivanhoe, IL, Darci and Roger Decker of Orlando, FL; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Von Walsh of Adrian, MI, Tom and Kim Walsh of Canal Fulton, Jeff and Jennifer Walsh of North Canton; sister Frankie Gass, brothers Dan and Bill Walsh; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and his loyal 4-legged friend, Missy. James was deeply loved and will be missed greatly by all. Funeral services will be Monday, December 28th at 1:00 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton.
