James S. Vasiliou, age 83, of Hartville, passed away on Tuesday May 15, 2018. He was born in Akron, Ohio on January 21, 1935 to the late Steve and Margaret (Kollaros) Vasiliou, graduated from Garfield High School, attended Kent State University and served in the Army Reserves. Jim retired from Goodyear after 41 years of service. In younger days he enjoyed drag racing. He enjoyed caring for his cars, working in his yard and going to the Florida beaches with his family. Jim was known for his sense of humor, wit and kindness.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Patricia; children Christina (Kevin) Warner, Dr. Lisa (Jeff) Dannemiller, Steven (Andrea) Vasiliou; grandchildren Krista Heisler, Adam Heisler, Nichole (Andy) Gill, Kyle, Lexi, Justin and Jarrod Dannemiller, James (Camille) and Nicholas (Meghan) Vasiliou; great-grandson Mason Vasiliou; sister Pauline Proctor; and nephew Jimmy (Val) Spanos. Preceded in death by sister Katherine Spanos.

Calling hours are Friday 6-9 PM at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville and 1 hour prior to services Saturday 10-11 AM. Funeral services are Saturday 11 AM at the funeral home with Tom Peshek, celebrant. Final resting place is Mount Peace Cemetery, Hartville. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society or Summa Hospice.
