Obituary

James E. Selig, age 76, of Canton, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015. Born in Canton to the late Edward and Dorothy (Knackrehm) Selig. James attended St. John's Catholic School and graduated from Central Catholic High School. He served in the National Guard, was employed by Standard Oil, retired from Diebold's after 45 years of service and worked for the Board of Elections. James was an avid bowler playing in many leagues; he once bowled a 300 game. He also enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, traveling and especially their seven week vacation in 2000 to Hawaii. James was a 26 year member of Lathrop Lodge No. 676, F & AM (Canton Lodge No. 60 F & AM), Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Tadmor Temple and the Nomad Club. Other memberships include; American Legion Post 44, Diebold Retiree Luncheon Group and American Council for the Blind, Canton group. The family would like to thank Dr. Lamberto Galang, Jr. "The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop, at late or early hour. Now is the only time you own. Live, love, toil with a will. Place no faith in time. For the Clock May soon be still." In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Bennett Selig in 1985 and brother, Robert A. Selig in 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Marcia (Carey Trusty) Selig, sister-in-law, Sheryl Selig and numerous nieces and nephews. Per James' wishes there will be no services or calling hours.
