James W. Scaife, age 78, of Hartville passed away Monday morning August 24, 2009. He was born in Clymer, PA on June 13, 1931 to the late Harold and Geraldine Scaife. He served 1949-1969 in the Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from Teledyne Monarch Rubber Co. July 1990. He is survived by his son Jim of Hartville, son and daughter-in-law Steven and Kristen of Massillon; brother Weldon Scaife of Cleveland; sister Eileen Kubalek of PA; and faithful companion his dog shadow. Preceded in death by his wife Winifred in 1996 and brothers Ralph, Harold and Albert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday 10 AM in Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Fr. John Zapp celebrant. Calling hours are in the church one hour prior to services Sat. 9-10 AM. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
