James B. Rice Obituary James B. Rice, on July 5th, 2015, passed away in Hilliard, Ohio. Born in Canton January 12, 1925 to the late Roscoe M. and Grace Beard Rice, Jim was a 1942 graduate of Canton McKinley High School. On August 30, 1958 Jim married Nancy M. Rice. He was a concert violinist for 30 years before working for Roscoe M. Rice Civil Engineer & Assoc. as a draftsman and surveyor, Tim Hemry Pipe Organ Co. and Kempthorn Motors, was a 51 year member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Canton and the Stark County Power Squadron. Jim enjoyed music, gardening, boating, and talking with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by his wife Nancy (Schneider) and brother RM Rice. Jim is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Jeffrey and Jodi Rice, grandchildren Rachael, Carter, and Parker Rice all of Hilliard, many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends. Jim will be missed by his loving family and friends as he always had a smile, a kind word and an ear to listen. Calling hours are Thursday 5-7 PM at Arnold Funeral Home Canton and one hour prior to services Friday 10-11 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Funeral services are Friday 11 AM in the church with Rev. Timothy Muse officiating. Final resting place is Henry Warstler Cemetery.
