James Randolph Parmenter died on September 20th at his daughter Cindy's home in Hartville. He was 89. Jim was born on April 19, 1923 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He was raised in Kent where he worked with his father and brothers in the family business, SW Parmenter & Sons before pursuing his undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania and his graduate degree in Philosophy from Kent State University. Prior to his retirement, Jim taught Philosophy classes at the Kent State Stark branch. Both he and his late wife Ellie were veterans of World War II. Jim is survived by his daughters Cindy Dalton, Sioux Parmenter and Fran Parmenter; grandchildren Cody Farinacci, Damon Parmenter, Cory Markowitz, Sean Dalton, Neill Dalton and Brian Dalton; and great grandchildren Violet Markowitz and Penelope Eleanor "Abe" Markowitz.
