James A. Palumbo, age 62, of Canton died on Tuesday afternoon after suffering a massive stroke. Born in Canton to the late Frank and Verna (Green) Palumbo, Jim was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, attended Ohio University and received his BA degree from Kent State University. A member of First Baptist Church he is survived by his wife of 20 years Barbara of the residence. Two sons: Benjamin J. and Anthony J. Palumbo both of the residence. Three sisters: Mrs. Jerome (Cheryl) Lebo of Arizona, Mrs. Lawrence (Teresa) Perez of Massachusetts, and Christine Krotzer of Arizona. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 24, 2009 in First Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin E. Slyh officiating. Interment will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-3 PM in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., NW. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family for the establishment of an educational fund for his son's.
