James M. Knight, age 81, of Uniontown passed away at Summa Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Charleston, WV on January 15, 1943, and is a graduate of Akron Buchtel High School. Mike, as he was known, served in the United States Army in in 1st Cav in Vietnam, and spent his career at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company where he finished his career working on racing tires.  He was known for his athletic abilities and excelled at basketball, running, and playing golf with his buddies. Passionate about sports and all physical activity, Mike dedicated each day to working out either lifting weights or going for a run. He was also a true aficionado of all sports and loved learning about history as well as keeping up with the latest mystery or thriller in print. If there was anything he was more passionate about, it was his family whom he loved spending time with through taking regular vacations to Myrtle Beach and visiting relatives in Canada. All family and friends recall his easy-going nature, good humor, and laid-back ability to carry a conversation.

He is preceded in death by his parents James Knight and Eleanor Price Knight and brother Mark. He is survived by his wife, Jeri Knight; son James (Shauna) Knight; sister Irene (Robert) Neshevich.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville from 4-6 PM. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 16 at 11 AM in the funeral home. Final resting place is Mt. Peace Cemetery.
